Oberon's process technology creates a high-quality, sustainable fish meal replacement (FMR) ingredient and can be adopted beneficially by many food and beverage manufacturers [more about becoming a partner]. Under current practice, treatment of water containing dissolved and fine-particulate organic by-products occurs under conditions that produce waste sludge. However, careful modification of the conditions for biological treatment yields an FMR ingredient utilizing those same by-products as growth substrate. In so doing, Oberon's process makes efficient use of both the by-product material and existing water treatment infrastructure.
Oberon Operates by:
- Locating on-site at food/bev WWTP
- Taking over disposal of waste sludge for free
- Installing add-on equipment with own capital
- Paying rent
- Providing new operating protocol for WWTP to make FMR rather than waste sludge
- Drying, processing, and handling FMR product
- Shipping FOB from facility in bulk containers
