Andrew Baum
CEO / Board Chairman

Oberon CEO Andrew Baum has over 30 years of life sciences experience. Andrew previously worked at Botaneco Specialty Ingredients as CEO, where he led efforts to introduce proprietary ingredients to consumer personal care and food products. Prior to Botaneco, Andrew was CEO at SemBioSys from 1998-2009, taking the company from the laboratory through venture funding to an IPO on the Toronto stock exchange. Prior to SemBioSys, Andrew worked for 17 years at Calgene, from its founding in 1981 to its acquisition in 1997 where he was serving as President of the Oils Division when the company was acquired by Monsanto.

Andrew J. Logan, Ph.D.
VP of Research & Development / Board Member
As a co-founder of Oberon, Andrew leads Oberon's nutritional and product development research. Andrew first traveled to Norway during graduate school where he gained experience in the aquaculture industry. Together with Seth Terry, he formed the concept of generating single cell protein (SCP) from food by-products shortly after his return in 2000. From that point until 2003, Andrew and Seth jointly conducted laboratory-scale SCP research. From 2003 to 2005, Andrew worked as a National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow in Norway. There, Andrew conducted pilot-scale research related to SCP production, handling, and feed manufacturing methods. Andrew holds a B.S. in biology with a microbiology focus from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. His M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado where he researched wastewater and drinking water microbiology and engineering. An engineering consultant since 2005, Andrew brings additional expertise to the Oberon team including water treatment chemistry, process applications, project management, and 15 years of construction experience.

Seth Terry, Ph.D., MBA
VP of Manufacturing Development / Board Observer
A co-founder of Oberon, Seth has expertise in the molecular biology and biochemistry that underpin Oberon's production of fish meal replacement (FMR). Seth uses his experience in the operation and optimization of biological wastewater treatment processes to qualify opportunities at food and beverage partner sites. Seth has worked on both water and wastewater projects as an engineering consultant, holds an undergraduate degree in History and European Cultural Studies from Princeton University, a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA from Regis University. Seth is fluent in French and Spanish.

David Tze
Board Member

David applies pioneering strategies and technology to developing sectors within established industries. He co-founded Aquacopia. Previously, he was VP of Strategy of the venture-funded NetworkOil equipment marketplace for the oil and gas industry, spearheaded tech consultancy Concrete, and co-founded Cache Networks, a novel digital television platform. David serves on the boards of Oberon, Snapperfarm, Ocean Farm Technologies, and The Ocean Stewards Institute. He has an A.B. in economics from Princeton.

Mark Lupa, Ph.D.
Board Member

In 1998, Mark brought his research skills and business experience to Tango to focus on technology and Life Science investments. He is currently working with Taligen Therapeutics and BioResponse, two early stage biotechnology companies. Mark's business experience came first in the brewing industry as founder, CEO and CFO of Tabernash Brewing Company, which was formed in 1993 and merged with Left Hand Brewing in 1998. He remains on the Board of Directors of the Left Hand and Tabernash Brewing Company. Mark holds a B.S. from Northwestern University and an M. Phil. from the University of Sussex (England) in Biomedical Engineering as well as a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Lund, Sweden. He conducted neuroscience research for fifteen years at institutions worldwide, including the University of Colorado and the University of California at San Francisco, publishing 18 papers and two book chapters during this time.

James P. Gregory, Esq.
Board Member
Mr. Gregory has been engaged in the private practice of law for 34 years with a practice emphasis on domestic and international tax planning, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Mr. Gregory is general counsel to GEF Management Corporation, a registered investment advisor with approximately $1.0 billion under management in seven funds, with a focus on environmentally beneficial goods, services and technologies concentrating on emerging market countries. He has assisted GEF in its private equity investments in varying capacities, from transaction counsel to supervisory counsel participating in the placement of more than US$1,000,000,000 in private equity since 1994. He is presently a Vice-President and member of the GEF Board of Directors. Mr. Gregory sourced, financed and closed a used motor oil re-refinery transaction in April 2008, with a total capital commitment of $50,000,000, and presently serves as general counsel and member of the management committee for that company. Mr. Gregory is a principal in, and primary owner of FG Investments, LLC, the holder of preferred and common shares and warrants issued by AIMS Worldwide, Inc. Mr. Gregory also serves as general counsel for AIMS Worldwide, Inc., focusing primarily on that company's acquisition activities. Mr. Gregory also owns Eggstrodinary Restaurants, LLC, formed in 2006. Eggstrodinary Restaurants owns and operates two Egg & I franchised restaurants in and around Denver, Colorado. Mr. Gregory has a BA from the University of Michigan (1971), a JD from Wayne State University Law School (1974), and a Master of Laws (Taxation) from New York University Law School (1976).

Albert Tacon, Ph.D.
Board Advisor
Albert is Aquaculture Research Director of Aquatic Farms Ltd in Hawaii, USA. Dr. Tacon earned his Ph.D. in 1978 from University College, Cardiff and his B.Sc. in 1973 from Westfield College, University of London. A British national, Dr. Tacon has over 35 years of applied research, training and field experience in aquaculture nutrition and feed technology, including fourteen years of employment and work experience with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) within National, Regional and Inter-regional Aquaculture Development Projects. Dr. Tacon has over 41 in-country work experiences with FAO & other agencies in aquaculture/nutrition/aquafeed development, and over 199 publications on aquaculture, including publications on food security and poverty alleviation, aquaculture nutrition and feeding, and FAO training manuals. Dr. Tacon is an Affiliate Research Faculty member at the Hawaiian Institute of Marine Biology, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Affiliate Professor of Aquaculture, College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management, University of Hawaii at Hilo. He also serves as Scientific Advisor on Aquatic Resources to the International Foundation for Science in Stockholm, Sweden (since 1998). Dr. Tacon is Editor in Chief of Reviews in Aquaculture, and also serves on the editorial board of Aquaculture Nutrition and Aquaculture Research.
